I’ve known Kaitlyn for about 5 maybe 6 years now – we used to work at Chili’s together back in the day and I remember just absolutely adoring her right off the bat. Not many people out there with a heart like that girl’s. Kaitlyn wasn’t there very long before she decided to move with her then-boyfriend, Kevin. They went up to Colorado to start their new lives and Kaitlyn and I kept up with each other occasionally on Facebook.
Years later in September of 2016, Kevin “finally” proposed to dear, sweet Kaitlyn. I say finally like that because that’s all we heard during their reception was “FINALLY!” Finally, they were engaged and finally they were getting married! These two were surrounded by so much love and support for their marriage.
Kaitlyn approached me in May of 2017 about hiring to do their wedding and engagement pictures – I was floored. She had mentioned how she had checked out the new website and wanted to know the process. It was crazy timing, too, considering I had just decided to pursue weddings a little harder back then and she was my second one to ever book! K&K were making a trip back down here to Southern California and wanted to do their engagement pictures away from the heat and someplace magical. I did some digging, spoke with a few people and we all decided on Wrightwood for their session. Y’all… It was GLORIOUS. The weather was perfect, K&K were perfect, and their final images were out of this world. Side note: see if you can find their engagement pictures on the website!
Their wedding day was finally here and let me tell you… It was pure magic. The love everyone shared for each other, the happiness that these two were finally tying the knot, the way Kevin would look at his bride and the cheeky grin Kaitlyn gave as they were pronounced husband and wife, down to the details – it was simply magical and spoke directly to my soul.
Their venue was Edward’s Mansion in Redlands, California and it proved to be the greatest backdrop anyone can ask for. My business partner and second shooter for the day, Allison Hays and I were boppin’ all over the grounds with Kaitlyn’s stellar dress and all of their details.
Kaitlyn was the definition of a beautiful bride. The dress was made for her and when you're a hair and make-up artist as talented as her. You know she's going to rock her wedding day look. Both momma of the bride and momma of the groom were there to help Kaitlyn into her dress and make sure everything was perfect.
Our groom, Kevin, was simply majestic. I’ve never seen a guy with hair like his and I hate to admit it, but it was totally better than mine. His groomsmen were a crack up, too. I have some pictures that are probably better left for the final wedding gallery, ha!
Their ceremony was short and sweet and was done by a close friend. Jessa, you nailed the ceremony, girl! And their family portraits went off without a hitch because everyone was so happy and willing to be apart of them.
Their reception was nothing short of how amazing the rest of the wedding had been. Kaitlyn was dancing her butt off and Kevin couldn’t help but watch his new wife. The cake cutting was fairly eventful but was so totally them.
To Kaitlyn and Kevin and the entire rest of your family – Thank you for being so incredible. Kaitlyn, I love you for hiring me to document your day and for believing in me. I hope we did right by you two.
